Empire State University closes Hartsdale location, moves to Westchester Community College
(YONKERS, NY – JULY 3, 2024) Empire State University is closing its Hartsdale, New York location and relocating to Westchester Community College. The new office will be accessible for faculty, staff, and students beginning July 8, 2024.
The relocation from the Hartsdale office, located at 210 North Central Avenue, Hartsdale, New York, to Westchester Community College, located at 843 Kimball Ave, Yonkers, New York, began July 1, 2024. The new location is available by appointment only for students.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hartsdale location has seen a significant decline in foot traffic and classroom instruction. As Empire State University continues to enhance its online teaching and learning model, the university’s partnership with SUNY Westchester expanded, allowing the chance to move onto their campus in Yonkers, New York. The relocation allows us to co-locate their state-of-the-art campus and have direct access to students, meeting space, and classrooms.
The relocation will support SUNY Empire’s enrollment goals connecting the university to a wider population, including over 2,000 students at Westchester Community College. The new location also allows SUNY Empire to operate with a smaller operating expense and a net saving of over $300,000 annually.
SUNY Empire’s new location is central to restaurants and retail shopping. It is easy to access via public transportation and commuter trains and includes free and public parking.
Employees who will report to the new Westchester Community College office will be remote until July 8, 2024. Students can start scheduling appointments for July 8, 2024.
