(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — OCTOBER 9, 2024) Jason Russell, professor in the School for Graduate Studies, has been named an external faculty associate of the Global Labor Research Center at York University in Toronto, Canada.

Russell has been published several times with articles on work and labor in American popular culture, management and labor conflict, and the history of union and labor movements in Canada. As part of his role as an external faculty associate, Russell will serve on advisory committees, present at seminars, and collaborate with colleagues at York University and other institutions regarding his expertise on labor studies.

“I always find it helpful to form links with communities of other scholars, as you always learn something new from them and that new knowledge becomes part of the courses I teach at Empire State University,” Russell said.
