Maureen Kroning named interim dean of the School of Nursing and Allied Health

(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — JULY 12, 2024) Effective August 1, Maureen Kroning, MSN Ed.D. RN, will serve as interim dean of the School of Nursing and Allied Health.

Kroning began her nursing career in 1989 as a staff nurse at Westchester Medical Center and has since worked as a nursing manager and educator. In 2019 she became program director of the School of Nursing at Rockland Community College, and most recently served as Rockland’s dean in their School of Nursing Health and Wellness. Kroning has also been an instructor at SUNY Empire since 2019.

Together, we will build a brighter future for healthcare education and practice.”

As dean at Rockland, Kroning led efforts to increase enrollment and retention, developed and launched programs for home health aides and certified nurse assistants, and increased Rockland’s focus on and secured grants from both state and federal sources. Kroning has an extensive list of publications and will present at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) 2024 Annual Conference in December.

Kroning is a reviewer for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, a board member of the Council for Associate Degree Nurses (CADN), a member of the American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She earned her bachelor’s degree at New Paltz, a Master of Science in nursing from Walden University, and her Ed.D. from Walden University.
