Regalia provided to students through Student Activity Fund
(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — OCTOBER 15, 2024) Regalia for Empire State University’s Commencement ceremonies is now available to order at no additional cost to students. The regalia is funded by the Student Activity Fund, allowing the university to eliminate additional financial barriers students may face. The decision to allocate funding for regalia is a change from years past and a result of feedback from students on how the university can improve the commencement experience.
“Regalia can be expensive, so we really wanted to remove the barrier to encourage more students to celebrate their accomplishments,” Danielle Heller, director of special events, said.
Eligible students will be invited to order regalia through their Empire State University email address but will only be eligible to order when they become eligible for commencement. Students will be able to keep the regalia or donate it back for commencement closet, a loaner system run by the Special Events team to increase access to regalia for all students.
To receive regalia, students need to enter their information with their Empire State University student ID number with Balfour, which will then mail their regalia directly to students’ homes.
The deadline to order regalia is five weeks before commencement. If students miss the deadline to order, the special events team is able to loan regalia free of charge through commencement closet.
